Introducing Judy Hutson

After 13 remarkable years, Judy Hutson’s legendary tenure as Creative Director of THE PIGs is coming to an end. Founded by her husband Robin in 2010, THE PIG began as a restaurant with rooms serving simple, delicious homegrown food in the New Forest. Over the years, more PIGs have slowly been added into the fold – each one a carefully chosen, historic building rooted in the British countryside with its own personality and character. We spent the day with Judy at the newly opened PIG-in the Cotswolds discussing all things inspiration, interiors and what her well-earned retirement holds in store.

Known for its signature blend of rustic elegance and cozy charm, no two PIGS in Judy's farrow are the same. Their interiors are unique to the building’s heritage, leaning away from a cookie cutter formula and into the inherent character and history that the building, and their location, have to offer.

Interiors aside, there is one thing that every PIG has in common, the kitchen is the heartbeat of the hotel. Celebrating the seasons, and with an aim to grow as much produce on site as possible, their 25 mile menu changes by the minute depending on what the kitchen gardener of each hotel deems to be in perfect condition on that day.

“Like interior design, when I buy clothes I like to be an individual. Jigsaw has taken me through all the ages.”
